Approach

Life can feel overwhelming, uncertain, and scary. It doesn’t come with an instruction manual, and we may feel alone in maneuvering different transitions. We may also realize we have certain belief systems that don’t serve us, and choose to re-design our sense of selves.

Vulnerability is where we can begin. It allows us to access deeper parts of ourselves, connect with each other, and receive validation for our experiences. During our time together, my goal would be to create a space where you can let your walls down and leave our sessions feeling less alone, fully seen and heard, and empowered to create a life that fits your values and needs.

My approach is individualized and person-centered. I recognize that everyone has their own unique background and experiences, and I may need to draw from different modalities to provide support. A few I may lean towards are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I enjoy working with teens and young adults, individuals who come from immigrant backgrounds, and others interested in receiving support with:

  • Anxiety/Depression/Stress

  • Young adult transitions

  • Trauma recovery related to family of origin

  • Interpersonal skills/Boundary setting

  • Increasing self-esteem/Building confidence

About me

I am a Filipino American and was born and raised in Miami, Florida. While I am proud of my mixed background, it caused me to struggle with my identity and sense of belonging, and my child self felt like an outsider most days. I have spent the majority of my adulthood creating room for self-compassion, vulnerability, and growth.

I moved to Washington in 2022 after falling in love with Mount Tahoma, now called Mount Rainier. I have experience working in schools and non-profit organizations, where I’ve been able to offer support to teens and young adults with various challenges.

In my spare time, you’ll find me reading a historical fiction or romance novel, indulging in anything sweet (my current favorite is lemon curd), getting fresh air at a park, or on FaceTime with my toddler nephew.

Training

I received my  Master of Social Work degree from Florida International University.

I have completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
